Path To Starting A Thriving Grooming Business
The top 5 pieces of advice I’ve heard from doing over 100 podcasts with grooming business owners.
What’s up Daily Groomers, Happy Friday!
So we’ve been busy recently. (If you read last week’s email you know why!)
We’re hosting a mastermind for mobile business owners next week - and it’s going to be big.
There will be some big shot mobile owners there (I’m talking 100+ vans) and some younger pups with some newer experiences to share. A little bit of different perspectives for everyone!
And I have to say… i’m kind of nervous. 😬
So to prepare for the event I’ve been re-listening to some of the past podcast episodes.
After binging a bunch of episodes, I have 2 major takeaways:
does my voice always sound like that?? Now I know why my last gf dumped me… 😂
there are A LOT of great tips shared on what makes a successful business owner
And though I can’t cover them all, I wanted to share my unofficial ranking of the top 5 pieces of advice I’ve heard from doing over 100 podcasts with grooming business owners.
Not any fooey gooey stuff, but the real secrets!! (If you’ve never listened to the pod, you should 👉 thank me later)
Okay, let’s get into it. Here’s my notes!
Build a Self-Reliant Team: Invest time in training your staff. Create detailed operating procedures so your salon or mobile business runs like a well-oiled machine, even when you're not there. (6 mobile unit owner)
Wear Your Manager Hat Proudly: As an owner, you're not just a groomer. Start paying yourself for those late nights balancing books and strategizing. This mindset shift can revolutionize your business model. (1 salon owner)
Profit is Not a Dirty Word: You shouldn’t feel bad about wanting to make a profit! A profitable salon or mobile grooming business is a sustainable one, ready to weather any storm and create a stable lifestyle for your employees. (84 van owner)
Push Your Boundaries: Most owners think they can never manage more than two groomers…. until you try it out! What's your "impossible" goal? (2 salon owner)
Find Your Tribe: Running a business can feel lonely, it helps to have friends doing the same thing. Join our Facebook group "The Daily Groomer Community" to connect with salon owners who are crushing it. Learn from their wins (and mistakes)! (24 van owner)
Take the moment to think…. Is your grooming business just surviving or actually thriving? You can dive into the full article on leveling up your grooming business on our site here.
Now back to this big mastermind I mentioned… We only have 12 spots left so if you want to get in the room with other groomers where you can learn directly from the top groomers who have built thriving grooming businesses sign up immediately!
Next week our Mobile Grooming Mastermind will featuring a panel of seasoned mobile business owners. They'll be sharing their hard-earned insights and strategies for running a successful pet grooming business varying from 1 t0 150+ vans to franchises vs brands they built at their kitchen tables.
Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look and ask our panelists ANYTHING about their grooming business. Whether you are brand new to grooming or a veteran in the grooming world, this mastermind is the best way for us to all learn together!
(we’re capping the event at 50 attendees, if link doesn't work, it means we filled up)
