👀 Walmart is getting into grooming?

Walmart is currently piloting Pet Services in 1 store in Georgia

Walmart is making strides in the pet industry with the introduction of grooming services. While Walmart has been selling pet items for decades, including its famous Ol' Roy dog food, named after its founder Sam Walton's English setter, this new venture will expand their reach into the pet healthcare and service sector.

Why this move? Walmart recognizes the growing importance of pet services, driven by customer demand. Recent studies, such as one by Morgan Stanley, indicate that approximately 40% of the pet industry's revenue comes from services.

What does that mean for us? Don’t fret. I think this is overall a good thing for our industry. With big players like Walmart coming into the space, more regulation and training opportunities are bound to come.
