You know what I hate?
I hate to see groomers working 10 hour days, 6 days a week and not getting paid what they are worth. š
I wanted to see how widespread this problem was so I ran quick straw poll and sent this text to 10 of my friends...
You know how many people said under $125?
EIGHT! 8 PEOPLE SAID UNDER $125! š³
And most donāt even know how much they should be charging or how to even go about implementing price increases.
How you price your grooming services shouldnāt be a finger-in-the-air guess.
Itās not really about āwhatā to charge but āhowā to effectively charge to run a successful grooming business.

Most non-groomers would read this and say āthe customer is always rightā. But we know that grooming is not that type of businessā¦ a lot of times the customer is wrong! And nothing is a better example than this case.
The groomerās recommendation was clearly communicated BEFORE the appointment
The groomer couldn't complete the groom based on the dogs behavior
AND the groomer offered a 2nd appointment to finish the dog, which the owner declined
To me this seems like a no-brainerā¦ a refund shouldnāt even be considered. A $20 additional fee is generous to begin with!
